The Lake Havasu Balloon Festival is one of Lake Havasu City’s premiere events!  People from all over the country flock to town to see the beautiful balloons with their colorful and sometimes comical silken globes.   This year’s event will feature 80 balloons from all over the United States. If you have not been, it’s a must see event.  The morning ascension is a sight to behold, when the pilots fill up the balloons and take an early morning flight over the island, weather permitting.  You’ll find many enthusiasts along the shores of Lake Havasu taking photos and cheering the pilots on. The daytime festivities feature live music, hot air balloon rides, sky diving, crafts, merchants, a variety of food and drink and, of course, rides for the kids. The night glow is one of the most spectacular sights you will ever see.  The pilots fill up their hot air balloons casting a beautiful glow in the clear desert night sky.  The event begins Friday, January 13th at 6:00am and closes on Sunday, January 15th at 10:30pm.  Shuttles can be found at the Aquatic Center and the Swap Meet parking lot, or there is free public parking on the island across from the Nautical Inn, although with only a two-lane road on and off the Island, traffic conditions can be congested depending on the time of day. The cost is only $15 per person for the entire weekend, age 14 and under are free. For more information, do not hesitate to contact us. You can also find us volunteering at the Information Booth this year!  Hope to see you all there!
